Yorkie has been busy in the studio working on a new project with co-collaborator Ian Martin Wright. They have written 10 songs to date, but the specifics of the project are being kept well under wraps. Suffice to say that you will know in due course. The much delayed box set starts shipping this week, and a big thank you to all for being more than patient. One of the major delays was trying to locate a suitable master for the original soundtrack to the film 'Leaving Time', a film project Yorkie worked on 15 years ago. Unhappy with the quality of the master in his own posession, he tracked down a pristine copy from the film company. Feeling that this was an essential part of the box set, it had to be right, and so explains the delay. For all who pre-ordered, there will be spacial bonus material unavailable elsewhere. The box set contains exactly 100 tracks, completely remastered by Yorkie himself and sounds absolutely fantastic. My Amiga is a band Yorkie and Ian have been working with closely, and their recent session for 'The Pool With Dave Monks' on BBC Radio Merseyside, recorded during the Liverpool Sound City 08 week, will be aired in the second half of his show this coming Sunday. The band recorded a half hour set, alongside Elle S'appelle, and both sets were amazing. You can hear it if you go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/merseyside.shtml or tune in to 98.8fm. If you like what you hear, please contact the show and tell them so. Yorkie has also been working with Circlesound on some new material. The band hail from Chester and are, quite frankly, superb. You can hear a couple of tracks on wwww.myspace.com/circlesound. Also, he is finishing off the Shack 'Time Machine Live' DVD/CD as we speak. This is a fantastic overview of the bands last tour, which will include live footage from the sell out gig at the Liverpool Carling Academy, as well as documentary footage and loads of extras. It was , in Micks words, "The best Shack tour", and the CD's contain songs from the tour not on the DVD. This has been a bit of a labour of love...but worth the wait! Andy Wilton's follow up to his wonderful low budget film noir, '20,000 Little Reasons', entitled 'Behind The Scenes Of Total Hell' is finally in the bag, and features not only music from Yorkie, but also The Drella's (Tommy Scott) and Dust (Franny Griffiths & Jamie Murphy). This is a bit of a coup for Andy, as it is the first time all members of Space have been in the same place for some time (Leon Caffrey plays drums for The Drella's for you completists). Well done Andy. The film is super cool and very very funny. Finally, Yorkie is looking forward to mixing the first release from his favourite band IVAN CAMPO. Over and out (for now...but things are hotting up) HT
